Earlier this evening I took a phone call from the Chairman of Cannock & Rugeley CC apologising profusely for the fact that the information given to us earlier was not valid as the person who had actioned it was not authorised to do so & to pull them out of the League. The request was then made of the League for Cannock & Rugeley to be re admitted.

I have immediately discussed this with colleagues on our Executive, our common view being we must wherever & whenever to try & encourage cricket to be played.

The consequence of all this therefore is that Cannock & Rugeley are re instated back into Division 3 & that their previous results, including matches called off will stand. That will also be the case this coming Sunday as it is too late for Nether Whitacre to change their situation. Nether Whitacre will therefore be awarded the 12 points as has been the case where Cannock & Rugeley pulled out previously.

The amended league table for Division 3 will be totally updated in time for its release after Sunday’s round of matches, the next fixture after that for C & R being their home match with Hawkins on Sunday 19th June.

Would all concerned & affected by this please ensure all within their clubs are aware of this latest development.
